Evraz says to invest 1 bln rbl to raise quality of sinter output
MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- Evraz KGOK, a subsidiary of U.K.-based mining giant Evraz, which operates mainly in Russia, plans to invest more than 1 billion rubles to change the technology for production of sinter that would improve the product’s quality and raise output slightly, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The company plans to replace some raw limestone with burned lime of its own production in the caking process, which will improve sinter’s hot strength and raise production by 400,000 tonnes to 4 million tonnes per year.
It will also reduce consumption of solid fuel by 5% and consumption of raw limestone by 23%. The company plans to finish the project in March 2022.
